Hi Peeps,

Just a quick update on the Pine log fence issue at Pinnaroo Point. I just got off the phone to council this morning and we have progress! The email and photo's I sent few weeks ago to council has been forwarded to the Directors for discussion.

They were originally concerned we were all paragliding and tramping up the dunes and jumping off, thus destroying vegetation and the delicate dunes structure. Now at least they know what we actually do and are fully aware of the potential danger that exists with running in to strung wire and 5 inch pine log posts with powered kites.

The departments are hopefully going to either move the posts back further or remove them all together in the areas we use at the point. This may take a little while as there are four departments involved in the decision making process; Environmental, Planning, Parks and one other, which makes the decision making process long and difficult.

I am following it up and hope to have at least some improvement in the situation when I post again next.

Good winds,
