Hi All,

It seems to have warmed up enough to allow us to host this years Season Kick off BBQ/Party.

This is a casual, fun get together organised and hosted by AKS in conjunction with Todds Catering business to welcome in the new season and to catch up with old friends and new.

Who's invited?: Anyone who rides at Pinnaroo Point or shops with us. It's an open invitation and no one will be turned away. We also extend an invite to the girls from WACK to hang around and enjoy some Pinnacrew hospitality after your WACK function.

What we provide : AKS will provide a free BBQ and sensational food to accompany it. We will also provide music, lighting, ice and tubs for your drinks.

What you provide : Friendly and open, easy going attitude with a smile. You will be asked to provide your own drinks. (there's a limit to even our generosity ).

Last season some of the ladies got busy in the baking department and offered some truly awesome desserts, please feel free to bring along any desserts you are keen to donate.

Where and when : We will kick the BBQ off at around 6pm and will go until ????? All this happens on Sunday the 8th November.

Venue : Will be Pinnaroo Point grassed area by the shower blocks. So you can have a shower after kiting.

It should be a great evening and well attended if last year was anything to go by. The food last year was awesome, not your average BBQ feed. Same Caterer this year, Go Todd! Many thanks.

If you have any questions, let me know by emailing to [email protected]

See you there

Cheers,

KH

Hi All,

A great afternoon was had by all at this years AKS Season opener BBQ and WACK girls day. I reckon we would have had around 40-45 kites and even more kiters on the water and beach. Thanks to Nic and all the WACK girls for coming up and joining us, lovely to see so many girls in the sport ripping.

Although the winds were light initially and only a couple of us on race boards and big kites were blasting around, the wind finally came in and allowed everyone to have a kite and enjoy the breeze. Many tried the new race boards and were having too much fun. I reckon race days will be popular if today's response was anything to go by.

At just after 5pm, the BBQ was lit and Todd and Marty manned the BBQ and we managed to feed more than 60 people with some top shelf food. A few cold bevvies were enjoyed and friendships made whilst we watched the sun set on another great day as we swapped stories of the days adventure, whilst funky tunes played in the back ground.

Many thanks to all my crew; Ed, Lorna, Judith, Marty, Zac and Tim for the help packing up, my wife Tina for the yummy dips and stuff and for Todd for supplying awesome food again, thanks also to the girls that baked awesome cakes and muffins, to Hans for the delicious BBQ'd fresh marinated Abalone and of course everyone who turned up and made it what it was, a great gathering of the friendliest people in Kiting.

Cheers to everyone, can't wait for the end of season party now

KH

Here's some pics of the fun!
