Word has it in Victoria that a Pommy kite surfer is traveling to WA for Christmas. Apparently he intends to drive from Margaret River to Port Headland, covering every K of the coast looking for kiteable locations.

He intends to cover the area in detail for an upcoming guide book which will be published in Europe and will cover every spot in a kind of Lonely Planet format. We understand that his intention is to ‘out’ all secret locations for traveling kite surfers. The alleged working title of this book being: ‘The Well Trodden Road’.

As we understand it he is willing however to overlook certain locations on the basis that every kite surfer on the day donates $50.00 each to keep their secret a secret. Allegedly the guy needs a new kite so........

So round about Christmas keep an eye out for this guy, apparently he will be flying an F.One Tribal Mk1 with an M8 SS board and answers to the name of Chris. Donations to his cause will prevent your local secret spot from looking like Kitestock in 2009. Fifty bucks each should do it.

Cheers

Report him to cops as a suspected terrorist. By the time they've finished his cavity searches the season will be over!!

good on him. It would be great to meet and make friends with more kiters from around the world.

I say we all make his stay as hospitable as possible as to ensure good reviews of our wonderful kiting locations. That way we are sure to get lots of fellow kiters comming over to share our great spots!

Yawn ...

It's not like there are that many secret spots.
I am sure a search of this forum and even kiteforum would provide enough info to write the book without even getting off your arse.

He can write what he wants, however if he expects us to pay him to not write about specific locations he can F88k off! If he ask me for 50bucks to not tell about a spot i ride at i would tell him to f**k off and punch him. That is rubbish................................ I don't care if tourists come here to kite or not. There are already enough cooks around .

Anyone who spots this guy should post a pic of him in the gallery so we can all see him coming.

If he has any sense he should be very discreet about what he is planning to do. Cos there are a lot of people on the WA coastline who would be more than happy to kick his arse if he tries it.

your idea is brilliant, you could make some $$ and kite the whole coast. i would say some one do it quick and only write up the locations that can handle crowds so the risk of it actuality happening is fairly remote.

Funny part is that some guy and his stunning gorgeous g/f both from Germany (wrote up a very good kite and windsurfing book for Europe and South Africa) was doing this last year on a quick tour of w.a. to gain info on kite locations around the state ..Not sure he went over east or not... but then again why would you?
