Has anyone got any idea what the winds likely to be doing next week?. I'm coming up for a week and wondering if i should bring my gear. What kite size should i bring, and where can i kite without pissing anyone off?
Cheers,
Andrew.

Andrew,

Don't bring your gear and the wind will crank

It's late in the season but we should still get more wind, 10-12m will cover you depending on weight etc.

4 Mile Beach at Port Douglas is a great spot to kite, by far the best in the area.

Don't know what would be worse - running into a croc and it thinking I was food or a going after me as a potential mate!!!! Screwed either way

Yeah the croc stories are all scaremongering, just don't let the two regular crocs at the Mowbray river bridge find out.

Low tide, western side of the Mowbray bridge the two resident crocs about 2-3m long sun themselves on a regular basis. Mowbray mouth is about 1km away from the regular Pt Douglas kiting spot.

I wouldn't like to think that anyone would try to scare people away from kiting at Port Douglas.
It's really such a great spot, best in far north Qld.
