Proyected Area - Naish Torch 2010 and North Vegas

Naish Web Page:

11 mts Torch = 6,85 (proyected area) sqm -- 5,1 AR

North Web Page:

12 mts Vegas = 6,6 (proyected area) aqm --- 5,5 AR,,,

i want to know if low end of 11 mts Torch are similar to 12 mts Vegas looking proyected area,
i think are similars but torch are one mts lower than vegas.

Anyway, more on topic.
If all variable were eliminated and it was just comparing projected area then yes, a larger projected area would mean more bottom end power, but as we all know it's not that simple.
The Vegas specifies a higher aspect ration but a lower projected area. If it were just a figures game then i'd say that a higher aspect ration kite would have less bottom end and less grunt, so the Torch would win on paper... but in the real world where it also depends on kite weight, turning speed, and stall characteristics i'd say it would be a fairly close battle. There wouldn't be more than 1 knot between them.

ohhh.

Well the Vegas has a better low end in the same size (not the same "proyected" area, not by all that much though. In your case, the 12m vegas would probably have a noticeably better bottom end
