Well I've done the dirty deed (windsurfing buddies will probably never forgive me) I've just bought an rrd series 6 2005. Please does anyone know what is and how you use the zip that runs down the spine on the back.
Also got the rrd bar and lines, Question, its a four liner, what does the handle that is connected to the rear lines do ( I think maybe something to do with relaunch in water) there's also an adjustment on the said line ,is that for trimming or adjusting the kite for different wind conditions? Thanks in advance. Cheers Bob

Hey Bob,

Get a lesson mate, no matter how good of a windsurfer you are kiting is very different. It's not hard to pick up, but there is some vital info you need to be taught so you don't hurt yourself or others.

You could take your bar to your lesson and the instructor could tell you all about the different features.

Happy Learning,
D

If you're in Perth go see SOS in Freo and get them to talk you through all the kite has to offer... they also do lesson i the IKO style...

then when your zipper breaks due to sand and salt water take it to Neil Taylor at Hold the Line Kites in Wembley, if he can't fix it ( he can fix just about anything) he'll sell you a Peter Lynn then you'll get sick of taking your dooner to the beach...

Take the dooner to Windsurfing Perth who will trade anything on a Carbonarah(Spelling?) of which you will find has an abortion of a bar...

then use it as a wind shade or some such thing...

take all these experiences and your new found knowledge to a SLINGSHOT shop and get a REV, the highest selling kite in Australia for a reason...

JUST MY OPINION...
All Great shops and great people but i have had the best success with Slingshot Kites and i am sure many other kiter's will agree with me on the build quality and 12 mths warranty, great after sales service...

windy times to you used2surf

The zip that runs down the spine changes the performance of the kite. Ziped up makes it a larger kite and unziped small i think. could be wrong.

Hi Usedtosurf,

you need to speak to Simon Peters in Margies. His business is called Mrkiteandsail. I think he may even post on her from time to time. Sorry I don't have his number.

Good winds,
