I didn’t hear the whole spiel but kiting made it onto the agenda on AM talk back today. Some lady complaining about kites on the beach at coogee. Ray Hadley called the Randwick council and they said all the beaches in their district are out of bounds for 2 line kites, but 1 line kites are cool. I wasnt frothing on the fact that kiting was on the shock jocks radar. I was waiting for it to blow up with some angry oldie calling up and complaining about kiteboaders.

time to vote...

Southern courier the local rag has a half page article on this subject - Petra Vaculik the owner of kite and kaboodle is the centre of the topic.
two line kites are now banned from seven of Randwick councils beaches, not that you would kite at five of them anyway

the Southern Courier are conducting a public vote on the issue-
so make an effort and vote in a positive way at www.southerncourier.com.au
follow the links and spend the time posting your vote

good to see you've picked up the banner mr chronic. my problem now is finding someone to ride with, but it is a problem i can live with. had some epic sessions this summer zoob and don't have to ask any beachies or lifeguards for permission to have fun. don't miss darryl one bit

yep we've {me and Marco} picked up the ball - not up to your militant standard yet though we are trying hard. persistance will beat any resistance i reckon. darryl hasn't changed one little bit. bit quiet round here without your presence .

Randwick council update 31/03/09

as reported by the Southern Courier...

"there were 145 votes ,or 97 % of people against the ban in the poll run by the Southern Courier....with the Randwick Council branded as the fun police....etc etc"

it"s all about teamwork i guess , thanks to all who made the trouble in voting and anyone who voted more than once or twice should be commended
