I don't know if any of you guys have tried to repair pumps after they start bypassing/no pressure.
I have done a couple of times until now -
1. Soak all the rubber bits in turpentine including one way valve rubbers. 2. Water paper the aluminium shaft to remove any proud blemishes. 3. Clean out tube base. 4 Assemble all, fitting rubber valves upside down for better seating.
Spray silicon spray all over rubbers and shaft.
So far the pump seams like it is holding pressure, cross fingers.
while on the subject of pumps, is there a bomb proof pump out there? killing a pump when you're out early and have to wait for someone else to turn up takes the shine off. probably a gear post but, while i am here
I'm pretty sure if you make a small video of the whole thing and upload it on youtube every one from all over the planet will look at it. I have a pump that it's not working well and I'll be the first one who like to see that video.
