Hey Juddy,
I used to use a Dakine Tempest (chicks seat harness) and swore I'd never change to a waist harness with bad experience using my boyfriends (at the time) waist harness which was a guys and too big!
I moved to a Liquid Force womans waist harness and haven't looked back since!

Technically, in strong winds, a seat harness I feel you can hold a lot more wind as it doesn't put a strain on your back, however, its just personal choice.
I love my waist harness, and unhooking and jumps are a lot more comfortable imho.
The LF womans harness is VERY padded and I've found with my sway back, its been an amazing protection for my back and provides a lot of support! =]
If you have girls in your local area, ask to try theirs on and have a go!

Hope this helped!
