I got the following email from Margo last night and she has asked me to post it up here .

To the Perth kitesurfing community and all who have posted on the forum,

I have read every one of your beautiful posts. Your sympathies and condolences are much appreciated. Your stories have made me smile. You have all captured with your words his love of life, his larger than life personality, his generous and helping heart and his passion for the sport that eventually claimed his life.

Kitesurfing was his passion. He lived to be out on the water and often couldn't wait for work to be over so he could check out the website, make sure the wind was perfect and head out to whichever spot was good that day.he would often come home, exhausted, but exhilarated, still yee-haaing and woooping. If he couldn't kite for a day, he was miserable.

We are reeling with grief and overwhelmed by our loss. We simply cannot believe he is not here. To those who were there on Sunday and tried to help and save our beautiful man, we cannot thank you enough. We know you did everything possible and you must be traumatised beyond belief. To all of you, we thank you for being his friend.

Did you see the footage of him kiting on the news...how happy did he look!!

We would love for you all to form a guard of honour for the coffin entering the building. 10am this Saturday at Fremantle cemetery. Tim will organize. His kite will be cremated with him. We welcome you all to the wake afterwards at 7 brassey st in swanbourne.

Marc died doing what he loved most. Go and have a kite for him and yell a few yahoos like he loved. Be safe and then go home and give your loved ones a big hug and tell them how much you love them.

Xx Margo and milo

I did not know coldshot personally but have seen him in the line up and he has landed my kite on numerous times.

Regarding the guard of honor at his funeral .
My good mate past away snowboarding, we formed a guard with all of us holding our snowboards there were 70 of us is total and it was really special. Just a thought guys

Dear Margo and Milo,

Thankyou for finding the time and courage to write you message, it means a great deal.

It is amazing that in a sport which is by it's nature individual and competitive, so much cohesion and love can arise.

We owe it to Marc to remember these moments when the summer kicks in and someone needs a hand, a new guy rocks up at you spot, someone cuts you off doing your best move, drops in on your wave, Points higher than you.....

No sacrifice is worth that but we all search for a light in the darkness to try and make sense of it all

With Love

Dr Phil
