Speaking to a mate at the nats who rides the new norths, he liked them, but I think this was mainly due to the 5th line. He removed the 5th line for a freeride and the kite misbehaved badly, ie, it needs it to fly right.

This means shortening lines for surf riding and such is difficult with 5th line, momre of a hassle.

If I were you, I'd keep the 04's and fit a 5th line to them, that way you can use short lines without the 5th line and not have the kite play up. You'll have the best of both worlds. The 04 Norths weren't a bad kite.

Take it for what it is, just an observer and third party's opinion, I haven't flown the 05 North, just relaying impressions of those who have.
