Soon me and my brother are going on a roadtrip from sydney to brisbane, our main priority will be kitesurfing, we are both beginners we can go upwind but the stage of jumping hasnt accured yet. we both like shallow and flat water, we have heard that Old Bar and Hawks Nest should be pretty awesome for beginners. we are looking for other spots of that character, very suitible for beginners, so if you have any other suggestions of any spots we would be happy to hear about it. also if there is any rules or dangours we should be aware of that you could tell us about.

Thank you in advance

Julius

Hawks Nest is great but I'm not sure as a beginner I'd want to do a whole lot of bodydragging around there...

yeah the main beach at hawkesnest is known to shark researchers as a congregation hot spot for white sharks. Not a great place to body drag.

some other beginner freindly spots are
tuggerah lake- the enterance
wallis lake forster
park beach coffs harbour
shearwater gold coast
wellington point brisbane
caloundra river mouth
maroochydoor river mouth
noosa river mouth

plus there are probably many more I don't know about. Obviously these locations appropriateness are subject to certain wind/tide conditions so check the state associations websites and ask locals for advice.

That sounds like a wicked trip have fun, I'm jealous
