So, I finally did it. Went to the Perth foreshore with 3m kite, 7m lines and got going on the roller blades. Was actually pretty easy and fun. The wind was not consistant enough though, so will do this again in better winds.

Proof of concept for me.

I find it too dam cold to go out in the water, and the winds are not all that good anyway.....kiting is just a gas no matter how you do it

Tried it years ago with off road roller blades and big stunt kites, the joy being you don't have to stick to a path and it doesn't hurt so much when you come unstuck. Try your local blade shop and see if they have a pair you can borrow for a demo. And yes you can go upwind and jump but that last option is up to you.
