Was just on kiteforum and noticed this review on Royal Kiteboarding http://kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2339323&highlight=royal. Clicked on one of the banners and emailed [email protected] to get some info about their gear in Australia.
Found out kites will be ready to ship in many countries in mid July but no distributor for Australia yet...What ??? They told me a 8,10 and a TT just made it to Perth last week. Anybody seen it, tested it ?

Have you seen these kites at all? How do they look on the water? It's just a bit hard for me to try them out I'm in Sydney

Oh.....
I have seen the 10. Bridled flat kite. Looks like a cross between a rebel and something familiar.
Looks very well made
No centre strut
Very thin LE and struts, honks upwind with little effort/wind
Lots of controllable grunt

Never got to try it so only have my report second hand. Check kiteforum there is lots there

Cool thanks Poor Relative.

I was hoping someone in Sydney might be bringing some in, I've read the kiteforum topics and first heard of them from a mate living OS. Just thought it would be nice to try them out but doesn't look like we've got anyone around here that's bringing them in?

Why on Earth would you be interested in unknown, obscure kites, that you can't even get in the country???

There are plenty of top notch, tried and true kites readilly available.

but its the question that drives us, the question that brought you here... Would you like to know what the question is?

Why should I give a f**k?

I was just interested in trying them out, a friend of mine in the US was saying they were the **** and reviews were good. Plus I haven't flown anything that I've liked out of the stuff that's around at the moment. Just looking for something else and different from the rest.

Here is the Blurb from Royal and Simone Vanucci.

"Simone has designed a new kite that he says, defies any classification. He says it is simply a tool for self-expression and a product of kite evolution that people won't believe until they try."

After reading that claptrap,I would stay well clear of them !

I was down at the Peel Inlet and had a go on the new 10m. The wind was fairly light and little bit gusty, I was as powered as the other rider's who were using much larger kites.

The kite turns very nicely with smooth power but still maintains an aggressive and solid feel, during kite loops the kite still really whipped, giving great pop. I thought you could load up against it better than other bridled kites that I've flown. It's fairly high aspect so fast across and around the window. It will go huge given a bit of wind for sure.

Bar is high quality with a North style Iron Heart push away Quick-release. There is also a "mini hook" loop. Interesting that the depower line runs up to the split on the front lines about 16m up. It comes down to the chicken loop to a tiny cleat with a trigger release.

The build of the kite looked very good, well finished with nice bits of thought out protection.

I'm going to have another go on this kite for sure!

Maybe they should have said "will make other kites obsolete!" That would work as a marketing tool for sure! (whatever happened to the hellfish anyway?)
