For the record ..........
WAKSA ALWAYS considers music options for EVERY event but ....
1) some events in the past have not involved sufficient member numbers to warrant hiring expensive sound equipment.
2) on several occassions over the past season hire arrangements have fallen thru last minute.
3) when hired gear was provided it was sometimes found inadequate &/or inappropriate.
For all of these reasons (plus others) WAKSA decided it was time members had a music/PA system of their very own.
It was found that the cost will be covered in a very short time when offset against hire charges AND we will now be able to provide music & commentary at EVERY waksa event - even the smaller ones - at no disadvantage to members who cant, or dont, make it to every one.

YOUR new system will be debuting at Kitestock - please come along & check it out if you are a tech head; otherwise just sit back in the dunes & enjoy

ps - if anyone knows a good DJ who would like to volunteer their services from time to time for the more intense, hard core, less backgroundy type sessions please let the committee know.

Why would WAKSA pay for a professional to attend? He's sponsored, his sponsors can pay. Would WAKSA members like us to spend their membership money bringing in a pro to the event or would they prefer us spending it on them and the sport?

leave the poor guy alone, he prolly doesnt want everyone circling over him.

WAKSA would love to see Ruben up there only because we believe all the people going up would enjoy watching him ride .

However this event is about everybody having plenty of water time and meeting people .WAKSA have gone to a huge amount of effort to organise things for the general kiting population going up .

Guys like Ruben would be great to see but I think that it is up to him and his sponsors to make arrangements if they feel the exposure would benifit them .

There is a very small group of people on the WAKSA events commitee that have put in a massive effort to put this on , hence the suggestion by Brooksy , that if you are keen to help they would really appreciate it .

Just to give you a perspective of the structure of the Volunteers doing this , the few that have put this together all still insisted paying thier $80 to attend .

I write this in appreciation of thier efforts because even though I am on the WAKSA commitee I have done nothing for Kitestock . I am however aware of exactly how much has been involved to make this happen .

Weather is looking good so it should be epic for all .

why dont you just raise the entry fee to 120 dollars, then there would be enough left so we can pay ruben to go there and ride. i think that would be really awesome, really.
