Hey all,

Just a big thanks to all the guys at Runaway Bay (Shearwater) spot today for making a newbie feel welcome in the area. Its great to have so many Kiters out there looking after eachother, least I know if I get in the **** (which hopefully I won't) there's people there who can help me out. The local advice for where to go is awesome to. Hope the wind is good tomorrow morning so i can get some solid practice in before the place packs out, didnt get in as much as I wanted to today.

One Question though, when i rigged my kite I found once it got in the air, it was sluggish as hell (which id say is on account of the lack of wind) but also my back lines tended to bow out and refused to tighten and I found it hard to generate a steady pull or even hold it on the edge of the window. Any thoughts as to why this happened? Is it just that I had the lines adjusted at the kite wrong? Each line was on the middle knot setting, it was a 12 Turbo D.

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks again guys.

Hi Aciiiiid,

I'm the blonde chick on the north (08 rebels and vegas) kites down at shearwater. Feel free and come ask me advise when you see me there next or any of the other local guys there.
There could be few factors as to why your kite wasnt flying good today,
Make sure you pump it HARD, newbies tend to under inflate their new kites. YES, the wind was light today aswell.
Could be a number of reasons. Come and say HI next time i'm there.

C you down there, Angie Van Hoof

Hi Aciiiiiid
I thought exactly the same thing on my first low wind day! Hope your kite turns out to be fine again next windy day! I also was more used to the smaller turns, etc of the 3m trainer kite.
