ALso heard of guys kiting the park on the south side of wangi and also myuna bay
There are trees at launch site for marmong, so not a beginers site at all

But not much happens on the lake except for NW @ squids when all of newcastle and some blowins turn up.

Most of us kite the beaches in a SE

As ginger was saying there are spots but you will need to water or drift launch and if you lose ground the place to get in might be very ordinary .I am not aware of any spots like squids in a westerly that are shallow where the chop is flattened out that are easy to get to .If you had a boat the sand islands at swansea could be a good option .The chop in the lake can be a real upwind killer in the lulls ,The sand island area is nice and shallow and you won't have this problem,I m not sure how strong or clean the wind would be tho.I have kited from the park at the end of ross st belmont (NW or 16 footers) when I was desperate once the wind was surprisingly consistent but again trees make the launch tricky ,the chop wasn't so bad

Thanks for the advice. I gave the fish co-op at swansea a go in a SE'er the other day and wasn't to bad really until the wind dropped off.Not quiet ready to take on surf backhand/switchfoot going out through break yet.Redhead cool for me as I am a natural footer.

At the southern end of the park at Valentine, lots of windsurfers when it's southerly. Not too sure about SE.

Launch and landing is tricky, lots of trees (kites natural predators) but once out on the water its pretty good.
