after seeing yet another guy put his kite into the trees... why are ppl insisting on self launching LEI's down at peli point?!

theres almost ALWAYS someone around to give you a hand, just ask!

and when someone offers you a launch ... TAKE IT

(third time this week getting knocked back trying to offer someone an assisted launch)

however safe you think you are being self launching, its ALWAYS safer to have an assisted launch.

Heres a GREAT idea I dont think is widely known or practiced
(from one of the many helpful Lucky Bay crew - thanks Paul)
Instead of waiting till you are on your own to try self launching why not practice it 10 or 20 times when you have someone available to assist. If all goes to s**t they can jump in and save the day.
It seems to me that with self launching if the very first kite move is right alls OK - if its going to go wrong there should be plenty of time for an experienced helper to grab or steady the kite.
It sure takes the 'what the F**Ks going to happen here' jitters out of the first ever try.

Good advise for instructors to build into lessons I reckon
