Where: Beaconsfield Tce and Nineteenth Ave, Brighton

When: Definately Saturday the 19th of April

Cost: Nil for Club members or $10 if not a member.

There will be prizes for a big air comp and best trick.

The Club BBQ will be firing up and lunch will be provided for participants, soft drinks will be available.

Come and meet other members of our small but exclusive club. Great chance to meet like minded people. Some of the crew from the Gold Coast will be making the trip up and look forward to catching up with the Brisbane and Sunshine coast riders.

RAFFLE:$20 per ticket will get you in the running to win a complete 13mt Waroo, valued at $1750. There will only be 140 tickets sold and you have to be in it to win!!! You dont have to be present to claim your prize, however there will be a bonus prize thrown in if the winner is there on the day .

Riders of all levels are welcome as Brighton is a great flat water location.

See you all there!

What time is the actual comp for big air and best trick please? Also do we need to become members of SEQKA and AKSA to join in the comp and how much to enter comp?

Timing depends on the wind and tides of course.

To enter the comp you MUST be a current member of SEQKA/ASKA

Membership applications can be accepted on the day.

Members will be provided a free Barby courtesy of SEQKA

Membership is current from October to September each year.

The committee voted to reduce the membership fee to $50 from this point in the year onwards to encourage membership.

Membership of SEQKA gives automatic membership of AKSA as well, with the ensuing benefits.

Hope to see you there.

Cheers - Fitzy SEQKA Treasurer

So no set time when I should rock up then? Im working in the morning so probably wont get there till 12 or 1, do you think it will be on before or after?

Also pity one has to be member of SEQKA/AKSA as I am still tossing whether its worth joining or not. Is it correct that AKSA insurance dont cover while you are in any form of competition anyway? If there is no insurance cover while you are competiing so what is the point of joining AKSA?

Does it cost any extra to enter the big air/best trick comp or is it free entry to all SEQKA/AKSA members?

The comp will be after 12 for sure.

I am always surprised at the "rumour mill" concerning AKSA membership and the question of insurance.

It is necessary to be a member of AKSA to enter any of the competitions sanctioned by them or their sub-branches.

Membership to AKSA provides confirmation that the competitors are in fact insured to cover any public liability claim arising at a comp. Personal accident insurance to cover you against personal injury is a personal choice and is in your hands.

Hi

Can anyone tell me what was the result of the Big Air comp? I didnt know what time it started until too late...I didnt get a chance to even get changed into kiting gear! Not that I had any kiting clothes with me!

I was out on the water and I got back fairly late and everyone was gone! I didnt know who Won the raffle? Did I have to be present to claim the prize if I Won? or is there a set deadline for when the raffle has to be drawn???

What a great day in Bris!!! There were over 55 kiters enjoying the sunny weather along with 20kts+ of good wind.

There were clouds and showers when we left the Goldie only to find Brighton was clearing an no rain!. We were prob on the water from 10am, Eric kicked off the BBQ early as most were fairly hungry, this was washed down with soft drinks and red bull.

It was great to catch up with lots of Bris crew put names to faces and I know some of the Goldie crew would like to ride there again.
There were plenty of up and coming talent on the water and hopefully these young guys can push each other further.

The prize didnt get drawn BUT will be in approx 4 weeks at a ride day on the Goldie at Sheerwater (details to come).

Thanks to all who participated.

See you all in 4 weeks

Paul
