What's with the large number of forum topics to do with sharks. Sharks are always going to be there so get over it.
Whenever you kitesurf in shark hotspots you should always have the thought in the back of your head, but not to the point of s#!TING yourself.
It's like everyones been living in the desert all their lives, and they've went in the ocean for the first time straight after watching a jaws marathon for the first time.

Right-on Sprouse.
The paranoia is mindless.
I've said it before, sharks live in the ocean.

Waveslave, I thought we trapped most of them in the Gold Coast canals? Did you help them to find their way out?

If u lived down south u would be ****tin ur dacks 2.
I live in Adelaide i have a reason to hate those sharks.
I was kiting the very next day after that Nick Peterson Guy got taken out so it doesnt stop me, im not a *****.
Still its always in the back of your mind, Once or twice cars have driven along the beach and told me to get off the water cuz of sharks thats how annoying they are.
I rekon we got to start killing them off, wat good are they anyway.

PsYLoR,
Nothing can find its way out of the canal maze of the Goldie.
Jap tourists have been marooned on Chevron Island for years.
They survive on a staple diet of bull shark sushi and KFC.

Kitecrazzzy,
It's certainly a small place, WA.
I knew Brad back in the 80's cause we were neighbours in the same street in Scarbs.
The bit about 120 metres offshore puzzles me?
That distance would place Brad well outside the surf zone cause Scarbs is an inshore beachy.
Probably a typo.

Well if ur kiting and u start geting mauled just launch into a kite loop, probably rip u in 2 tho.
Imagine if the shark ate the bar so that it started getting caned by the kite hahaha.
Once when i fell of my board when i was beggining and i got circled by a fin there is definately much u can do to defend urself with a kite yanking you one way.
