With the last few days of falling swell and constant offshore winds, the sea was clearer than a public pool today. Saw heaps of different fish of all sizes! EXCELLENT!!!

...or I'm just suffering some kind of kiting withdrawal.

Yeah, true dat.

Where are some good spots. I'm new to Perthtown and I've heard trig is good and apparently there is a 'swim through'; some sort of tunnel that you can swim through under water. Do you know where this is exactly? Is it easy to find?

Around Trigg island and just above at Metams Pool.

There's also Cape Peron Snorkel Trail down by the Garden Island bridge but I thought it was lame compared to Metams plus Cape Peron is a bad place for car break ins due to a quiet isolated carpark (checkout the broken glass everywhere).

For Trigg area there has to be a small swell less than 1m otherwise there's bad vis from the sand an silt stirred up.

Funny, that's exactly where I was and what I was doing. There's lots of 'swim thrus' but is there a one big arch somewhere? I'll have to keep looking!

Anyway, wind's back today... kinda.

BOyanaboat reef, off the back of Hillary's marina, is pretty good. there is a snorlking trail, and a pretty long swim through - down a hole in the reef and then about 15 metres under the reef before you come out. Good sesh and worth checking out for local snorkling ....

Yea! Thanks for that!! Now snorkelling's a perfect replacement for kiting... I get an adrenalin rush too everytime some seaweed moves in the shadow.
