Some tip's if your heading out at this spot...

1 # Pay attention to the channel markers right out front of the launching area, they have very sharp spikes on top... Fly your kite high till outside of them !

2 # You will need a pillow sack or one of those canvus shopping bags to place sand in to self launch off the grassed area as the beach area will do damage to your kite not to mention your hands if you try to shovel it on your kite...

3 # be careful as you wade into the water, sharp rocks and glass can be found amoungst the slushy mud !

Apart from those things to be considered (i've gone out at worse places) the place ROCK's !

Guys, watch out for the transperth ferry. Also watch out for Marine Safety, the area along there is eight knots.

Hey is this kiting down at the Sth Perth FS really gonna happen? If so post it here and let us know when your all heading down, should be good to go down as i live only a hop skip jump around the corner!!!
Times etc would be great to know if a bunch og ppl are heading out.. Is it even 'legal' persay to kite down there, coz i'm assuming that a wrong move will land kiters in a bad zone with the council, i am sure teh CM have approval as they have been operating down at the FS for yonks!!
More over giving it a go wont hurt!

I was there @ 7 to watch a limp flag & the joggers (none of whom had a head wind no matter which way they ran) for an hour then left Picked up later but was HELL gusty even at the spit
Still keen - anytime it blows nice
