Can you use a surefire spreader bar with a Crossbow? If so, what's the best way of doing this?

Easy and the solution I have used.

1. Cut off the dick from the chicken loop

2. Remove the plastic tube and velcro from the SS leash.

3. Add a bit of extension line to lengthen the leash. The extra bit of line goes between the leash and the clip that you attach to the ring on the x-bow line.

4. Add a stopper ball kite length away from the ring.

This system works pretty well but is not yet ideal. You will have to manually unspin the SS leash as it does not follow well enough when spinning. I have adjusted to the manual unspinning by either looping the kite or spinning the other way.

Personally I feel that this rig is excellent as it lets you go out with the confidence that you can use the SS quick release and not loose your kite. It is also good when you have no one around to land your kite. I have managed to relaunch the kite even after quick releasing.

Cheers for that Gruezi - what are you using for the extension line? Also, not sure if I follow you on the stopper ball point. Are you suggesting removing all the plastic tubing, or just the larger one with the velcro straps?

For the extension line I have used a small piece of nylon climbing rope.

Having a stopper ball will keep the ring (which you attach your leash too) from moving all the way up the line and creating a huge tangle.

Right, just remove the heavy tubing with the velcro.
