Will it do damage to my bladders if I keep the struts inflated?

Hell yeah dude your 12 mt over n approx period of 7weeks inflated will put your actual size up by 2-3metres. You are definatey going to buy another 12. Answer is: pump your struts up when you pump your leading edge and do mine while your at it.

Appologies to all caus i did (only for a slight second) consider tellin the truth but opted for the usual sh##.

cheers Paulio, for that prompt and detailed reply Sounds great. Ive worked it out I could have a 4 kite quiver from a 7 to a 15 in just 3mths for the price of 4 7m kites. Saving at least $1000. WOW......

But really whats the deal with keepn them up? Or Im I just a lazy pric. It still takes me few goes to get my struts with good pressure and it gets frustrating. Ideally I would like to kepp them up once I get good pressure.

Cheers guys, I knew about the hot car thing.
Keeping them up sounds like the trick. If anyone has any other opinions drop a line.

Maybe another stupid response but spider/octopus/one pump inflataion whatever you may call it is the way to go same pressure in all stuts and you can be pumped up with your lines out before your mates have finshed pumping up their leading edge,
Good luck

I'm with Fitzy... not even a cold spoon will keep the damn thing down!

As for kites... I always leave mine pumped, esp' on my 20. I bought a station-wagon just to keep it all in.

The biggest bonus, of leaving the ribs pumped, is that the bladders are always in the right possition... they don't fall out of the ends, resulting in blow-outs.

i also leave my struts pumped up all the time as well. works fine as long as you keep your kite in agarage or something like that. if you ever do keep your kie in the car make sure you let your struts down a little bit and they wont explode

HI Guys,

Keeping the struts inflated definately saves a bit of time, but as others have pointed out the hot car thing is BAD. Also consider that the struts do very slowly leak air so every couple of days you will need to top the struts up anyways.

The main concern I have found is that the necks of the valves get stretched from having the caps inserted all the time and they become quite loose, you need to then be careful about the velcro covering.

There is a method of sorting out stretched valve necks. Place them in hot water for a few minutes, then cool them in cool water. This normally works well.

Leaving the struts inflated also relieves some of the stitching failure of struts commonly associated with folding the struts to fit it into the bag time and time again in the same spot.

Summary: There are as many pluses as there are minuses to leaving them inflated. I like the compactness of the kites when packed so I always pack mine down completely, but at the end of the day it is whatever works best for you.

Good winds,
