This wonderful location must be kept open to our sport, and we as committed kitesurfers, need to be actively involved in representing the responsible and safe face of kiting.
We will be forming a redlands kitesurfing association.
We will be having a foundation meeting for the Redlands Kitesurfing Association this friday afternoon at Point of View licensed cafe at 5.00 pm.
Location 1 Main Rd Wellington point.
Can I ask that this invitation for positive involvement is sent on to all kiters who have an interest in acheiving a positive outcome at Wellington point.
Please be there, and circulate to all parties.

At this meeting
Zebb Peters will be outlining the requirements to form an association under the auspices of AKSA.
The group will be developing a plan to engage in constructive dialogue with Redland Shire Council to ensure approved access to Wellington point
Suggestions for developing this presentation will be taken.
A comittee will be elected.
Membership fees will be discussed.
a few beers will be shared.

Kite Surfing is the latest craze in water sport, and is enjoyed by people of all age groups the world over. In Brisbane, kite surfers regularly visit Wellington Point as it suits most wind directions and presents some of the best conditions in Australia.

• Currently, according to Redland Shire Council bylaws, Kite Surfing is prohibited, and bringing kiting equipment onto the reserve can incur a fine of $375.
• Wellington Point is home to some of Australia’s top kite surfers and is the local spot for a group of friendly responsible users who have a genuine interest in keeping Wellington Point safe and allowing it to be enjoyed by everyone, kite surfers or not.

I support allowing Wellington Point being enjoyed by all.

In general, too many people are kicking up a fuss over the plans to this. Just let the future take its path, and what will happen will happen either sooner or in the future.

If people want to whinge over 5 parking spots, go ahead ... (What I HAVE noticed is that the main people complaining about everything with the plans arent even REGULAR Wello kiters... If it was an issue for us, I am sure WE, the Wello kiters, would address this issue with the council oursleves, but allright... I know most are Wello windys, but I am talking on the kiting side) if people want to complain about the coral/ rocks or the conditions etc, kite at a different spot or don't kite Wello (easy - problem solved)... Like it or lump it guys.. Geeze...

Certain parts of this site have become pretty pathetic lately for grown men.
