Yeah, when I finish a session I just let my kite go. It might roll over the highway or a bunch of kids, but I save heaps of time by not having to roll my kite or lines. Everyone should do it.

I thought that was the way that Laird Hamilton and Pete Cabrinha used to use kites to get into Jaws and other big north shore breaks anyway. Been done for years.

Note bar and lines indicate Ben is surfing in offshore wind. The kite won't be rolling over any highways any time soon... Someone's probably waiting out the back with a boat to pick it up...

Not rocket science to be unhooked and unleashed when facing a monster, especially if the wind is light............but you still got to have balls and know how to surf.

More of a dig at the thread title (and regular anti-leash poster) than BW or kiting offshore winds. Couldn't resist
