I'm Sam and i'll arrive in Melbourne this Sunday, after 5 months in Perth.

i think i'll go kitesurfing in St Kilda, if it is good .. but when the season usually finish in Melbourne?

I'm not a good kiter and so i don't need a very strong wind ...

Cheers mates!

Sam

Ignore Gruezi; he's just 'enlightened'.

WA is awesome, but Melbourne (VIC) aint so bad.
St Kilda, Port Melbourne, Hampton, Brighton & Altona are all within half an hour of Melbourne CBD.
If you wanna head a little further out you can go to Pt Henry (Geelong), Rye, or anywhere along the Great Ocean Road if youd don't mind a bit of surf.

st.kilda will be blowing tommorow in a good angle for that place. jut be prepared to be dodging allot of kiters, allthough the weather will be pretty crappy so a few will stay home

I'm heading down from Nth QLD to Brighton on 9 April for a few days, is it worth bringing my gear along?

Yeh...funny, funny, hardy har har... ... har... I realise the wind fluctuates and is difficult to predict (certainly is up here) but when I checked out the KBV website it indicated that the season basically finishes in March. So... having never kited in Victoria I still ask the question, is it worth at least bringing down my gear? What's the water temp like? Perhaps I just shouldn't bother as my initial impression is that the wind sucks and the locals I have approached for some basic info aren't overly helpful. Thanks anyways

bring your gear, the season doesn't suddenly end in april, the southerlies are just less common and you can still get a kite in even if its cold.
