Hey everyone just wanted to get some idea's from you as to which kite you think would be better for a beginner out of a 8m griffin chimera , Bws noise and an ozone catalyst? Already own an 11m ozone instinct sport which is good, just find it hard to decide which would be better to progress with?

Cheers for your ideas

If you already like the Ozone sport stick with ozone

Only one of them is in the same league for quality. But all of them would do fine.

I believe all three are top quality kites. Perhaps one of them is the most suitable for a beginner.

That would be the Catalyst. The 8m will sit perfectly with your 11m sport as a 2 kite quiver. It will also let you get a taste of all styles of riding as you progress. No pulleys and short bridle also mean less wingtip tangles which is good while you're still likely to be crashing towards the kite.

How do you think the airush dna holds up against the three?

I don't know the Airush but I have an 8m Catalyst and would strongly recommend it.

Hey kit how does your 8 catalyst cope with gusty conditions as I've heard good things about them, I ride edges but I'm looking for a kite for our heavy frontals, that we get here in the winter thanks Cauncy.

yep a catalyst is a gust muncher and way better than the edge in extreme conditions.

So too is the reo!. .... .. . . . . .

It's a very forgiving kite. Many schools use them because they are easy to fly, easy relaunch and good in gusts. Also, not expensive. They fly well forward in the window which means good upwind ability. It won't boost like the Edge but it is quick and well built like all Ozone. I recently got a 10m Reo (surf kite) which I really like. Check the reviews on these out of interest.

I'm a big fan of trying to stay with one brand for your quiver. This ensures interchangeability between bars and similar feel. When you've been kiting for a while, you'll realise that things go wrong (line snaps, etc) and having to switch bars could mean not missing a couple of sessions. If you have an ozone, stick with it

Too true. I have one bar and use it with both my kites. 10m Reo and 8m Cat. When the new bar comes out I'll get one of them and only use it.

...actually the 8m Cat is exactly a 9m kite (at least the same size as a 9m Rev)... and a powerful one... not significantly less powerful then the 10m Reo, and about the same turning speed... just put this to the equation, when compare it with the 11m sport (I don't know this kite)... no matter how good Ozone kites are, be alert about the inconsistency about their sizing....
