ARSA - are you suggesting unhook and release the chicken loop whilst the kite is sitting on the ground at the side of the window? or is it taken back to 12 first, or at the edge of the window but off the ground?
yes, release while the wing tip is on the ground. This way the kite has less airtime to twist and get in a mess. Also better for your kite rather than dropping from 12.
That ring under your bar near the chicken loop is a gimmik safety system. It does nothing that letting your bar fully out will do. Think about it before bashing me on this.
Its not exactly a gimmik as such, because I dont refer to it as a safety. It simply provides a secure place to attach your leash to and keeps it out of the way of the c loop so that it doesnt interfear when unhooking and hooking. Its alot better attaching there for more experienced riders. If you are still learning or in a situation where you are unsure of the conditions, then best attach safety to the OSR.
also, I may be mistaken, but I thought that releasing the safety attached to the centre ring was actually equal to twice the depower of just letting the bar out?
It doesnt depower any more than what pushing the bar out would.
