I need to send a board (TT) from Perth to Victoria and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a courier company that isn't to expensive but reliable, also what have you used to package safely.
I had a board sent from nsw to Perth. It cost me $40 through couriers please. They wrapped it in bubble wrap and taped cardboard around it. I received it in one piece and in good time.
Pack n send canningvale Great rates and service, can make up boxes to size of item, cost me $35.00 to send kite to Sydney in a box cut to size. Have sent windsurfing sails and boards also a few years back Couldn't recommend them enough I always offer buyer wether they want insurance on the item or not at there cost, so at least if something does go wrong it was there decision

And when it arrives make the guy you sent it to open up the package in front of hyena courier guy...before he signs anything.
Otherwise the gutless fcks will not honour any damage...this goes for crew who receive boards, make the pricks wait as apparently once you sign then it's all fair game...
I suggest you take your time and really piss them off..

I'd definitely second checking the gear before signing for it. At the end of the day they're all pretty much the same as you're relying on an individual to do his job during multiple legs between point A and point B.
I work as an on-forwarder so have used all of the above numerous times. Couriers Please will use Toll, TNT or Star Track to deliver to their depots before doing the last leg themselves.
I'd suggest using WAFL (WA Freight Lines) for interstate shipping to Melbourne though. They might be a bit more expensive but they'll add insurance for only $10 that covers you up to $1500. I rarely have an issue with these guys and customer service actually pick up the phone.
Would never use TNT again, they lose a LOT of stuff (roughly 10-15% of what we've sent with them).
