Hey Guys thought I would pass this on, I was at Shearwater yesterday having lunch and hoping for more than the 8-10knots that was trickling in when I had the opportunity to strick up a conversation with a bob cat driver who was sculpting the foreshore and beach area! He told me that the council will be extending the groin at the Nth end of the beach to possibly protect the next beach further Nth and will be dredging the shearwater beach area to extend the sand area out further to the water line.
Looks like those light wind days might see some newbies hit the new extended groin on the incoming tide.... and more beach area might mean more beach users might make things a little tricky for future kite users. Anyone else heard anything about the plans for this beach?

Will ask Richo as he has "connections" with the council.
Shouldn't be a problem provided they don't install any water taps or toilet facilities. Shearwater has never been popular due to the lack of facilities
