radman4 said...there are a lot of different style leashes on the market ,two of the best i have used are the latest naish and griffin style ones, basic design just a foam covered pu tube and a stainless pin works every time and is a grab and push away system just like the main release so no confusion, some of the worst ones are the loop or strap pull ones ,they seem to work 50% of the time and are a pain in the arse.
Basically you shoud test your system under load (hook it to a static object and lead hard into it) to see how it works and get used to it,i've had ones in the past that jam under load if you have one like this swap it for a good one, most modern ones work well but beware of old rubbish.

Same for my eclipse release. Never released accidentally, worked like a charm when I had too.
I don't do flicky spinny giddy stuff so wear mine clipped (clips both at harness and bar ends) to the ring on my harness.
Same side every time. Locating it in a sh!t vs fan incident is super easy. Slides off easy as. On one occasion (whilst on the water) I did realise I had clipped back to front

so maybe a static fitting at harness end and clip at bar end is better?
IMExp velcro strap releases are kn useless, unreliable and should have disappeared years ago! If you have one, fk it orf and get a toob/pin set-up. Better design, safer, easier,
more reliable.
