Hello,

Having a very frustrating problem. Ive had 2 different leashes both slingshot ones and both continue to fire as soon as i drop the bar. Makes practising unhooked tricks very worrying. i ve now twice had the bungee fire and my kite fly away. I also got a cab leash and it did the same thing. And before anyone asks, i have it fully engaged. Im considering using just a ski rope ... has anyone else had the same issues, if so can it be fixed.

Thanks. Dave

Hi Mate,

Never had an issue with those at all? Make sure it is correctly set up as if not it will not lock in.

Drop into a shop i am sure they can sort it

Cheers

Never had that issue consistently, strange that it is doing the same thing across multiple leashes/brands. Suggestion would be that it has something to do with how you have it connected to the harness maybe? It's getting caught at a funny angle and popping itself?

Just a thought. Good luck, kites flying away from you suck.

yeah its definately set up right. Its locked all the way in so im just baffled. Its greatly annoying. When it pops, it holds up for a little while and then goes as soon as there is some tension on the bungee. anyway i might just use the ski rope cause its not a risk im taking anymore, especially with summer approaching, when my bungee goes and hits some poor kid swimming at the beach.

any more ideas appreciated...but thanks.

There's a few guys going around with custom ones, maybe a search will pick up some more info?

Yep, I have had the same problem with the slingshot leash. Due to the way it releases, if you get it wrapped around your harness when passing it is susceptible to letting go. I think they have changed the direction you have to pull to quick release of the new slingy leashes, probably for this reason.

I had the same problem with the ss leash it does get caught up on the harness when you are running it on a handle pass settup when you drop the bar. I have seen some guys just tape the top up so the harness cant fire it but if you give it a yank will still release. But i decided to go for the handle pass settup that slingshot sell you get a new spreader bar that has a handle pass leash with QR on the bar itself and a leash with no QR so unless you have pulled the pin on the spreader bar all will stay connected.
