I just got my first kite, a 05 Slingshot Diesel. I went to give it a fly this arvo and the one pump system sucks. All of the connections were leaking from the leading edge. Its my first kite and I dont really know what to do? Do I need a new bladder?

Any help would be great!

thanks heaps

Take it back to where you got it from and make them fix it unless they told you about the probs before you brought it.

If its leaking that much then its not fine stand up to who you got it of and demand it fixed. Did you buy from a shop?

Personally i would kick up more of a stink that some one sold you a faulty kite and then dose not want to help you fix it. Anyway the best thing you can do is contact slingshot and see what they recommend they are usually pretty good to there customers and should be able to help you out.

I have read about this SS valve problem a bit, on here and other forums. Waiting for mine to go (hope not!) Seems to be rather unpredicable when they will. Good one minute, not the next.

Check these other threads.

I would try Slingshot Australia and see what they say. I am sure they would love the free publicity of their good service for helping you out. It really is a fault of the kite by the sounds of it anyway. No prob if the manufacturer looks after you.

A little tip. Having just replaced bladders on my North, I would recommend you only remove the ones you need to for fixing. If you can't hear them leaking don't pull them out! Cheers.

There was a warranty issue with some of those kites. The one pump valves come away from the leading edge, the only realistic fix is to replace the leading edge bladder.
Personally I would be trying to get my money back, if thats not possible then call Slingshot, see if they can help you out?

If its a shop you bought it from you can demand a refund, an exchange or repair and they have to give it to you.

If it was a private sale, you took a risk and got dudded!! You'll have to order a new bladder from your local SS distributor.

We all learn this lesson at some stage!!! It sucks when you are keen to get out there and this happens!

This hasn't just been a ss problem it's just easier noticed as they have way more niples.
Slingshot have been really excellent with covering this stuff, I mean it is an 05 kite 2 yrs old and I've heard slingy have covered 04's 3 yrs old with some of this stuff even second hand.
This happens from the kite usually being put away wet and and then getting heated in a car or other place the air turns hot and steamy and can lead to any valve sepparation on any kite. Particularly if repeated over and over..
Anyway good luck with it, try your shop, try slingshot and see how you go never know. :-)

slingshot aus gave me a choice to get a new bladder for 165 or new valves at 14 each. My local shop said it was a easy fix for around 50 so im just taking it there. i took the risk of a private seller and i wont be doing it again

thanks for the help

It doesn't matter whether you buy private or from a shop,...
I bought a brand new Slingshot from the importer himself and got screwed...they do that...
They talked up the "link" when i wanted a turboo diesel...they gave me a demo on the link and discouraged the TD.
I ended up buying a link... they gave me one without the red bridle system(only telling me this after I paid for the kite mind you).
It took ages to get the red bridle system replaced...then the kite still sucked. I asked them to take it back...they didn't even want it back!
They said they couldn't sell it....oh how the sales speel changed from one side of the sales process to the other!!!
I'd say to you, the ONLY way to buy is second hand.
You may get done, but it won't cost you as much as buying from one of the ****ers that run the shop.

All I asked for was some service(after sales)but no way did I get any.
