Has anyone heard of a new slingshot light wind kite for 2007? I have heard nothing, seems like this year they are only promoting the Fuel and TD2 so far. Thinking about just buying a machine but 17.5m is pritty big for me so I'm not sure.

I think they will be pushing the T2 14m as the light wind kite this year, I still love the 17.5M Machine and won't be getting rid of mine it in a hurry. It's more the type and size of the baord, flat and wide that will get you going in light wind.

As for for support, Slingshot has looked after me every time.

hey tonewolf what the **** is that comment about slingshot - they provide unsurpassed customer support on their products and in terms of supporting the sport I know for a fact they have provided more financial support to comps and reder development than any other brand in australia.

get your facts right you idiot

support the brands that support you, i've had nothing but good things from SS, willing to help riders out with questions or proplems i've had. i hear you ride a foil kite, says how serious you are about your sport, think you should get back to your buggy.

Mate, here's the deal Go to http://store.sskiteboarding.com/ click Store, Click Closeouts.... Print the page, take it to your local shop and ask them to match it... Prices are in USD so figure about $700-$750 AUD as a fair comparison. SS Australia has stock in Sydney, only color left Black-Copper-Yellow so no debating... You'll be pumping the beast up in 2 days!!!! The kite is as big as a truck! Flys unreal, turns really quick but you'll feel it in the morning... Only flown my once, in 9-16kts riding a 5'2" Naish surfboard. The drop-outs were probably 5kts. Never a problem to keep the kite flying. I am fully stoked on it!

hammerhead has the right idea, sometimes you will have more fun cranking upwind on your lightwind board on a 12 meter in 8 kts than you will have slobbering out of the water on a medium wind board in 10-12 kts on a 17

Must agree with what most have said about Slingshot Australia customer service and warranty. There are alot of SS riders at our local spot (most dominant kite would be the Fuel) and any time there has been any sort of warranty issues or reqiure just every day support the local store and SS Australia have come through with the goods everytime.

I can say this with the upmost confidence that if you purchase a Slingy and have any problems, Slingy Australia will ensure that you are a satisfied customer. I speak from experience with dealing with them and the feedback from other locals.

I'm pretty sure slingy aren't making the machine's or octane's anymore, it's a gun kite so u better grab 1 while ya can.

Just heard SS will be bringing out a 17M in the T2 for their light wind kite. It should be a awesome light wind kite after riding the T2 in the 14M, which got me going in bugger all. Mix it with the SS Glide for the ultimate light wind weapon. Can't wait.

Still love my 17.5M machine.
