Can anyone help me?
I'm quite happy with my Link except for one main problem; in 4-line set up the safety line gets twisted every time you do a rotation. I know I could put the 5th line on to get around this but it seems like overkill. Any advice?
The second thing which is a bit of a problem is that the kite will come forward in the window quite a long way, if I do a bad jump it sometimes goes nose down and falls. Is there anything I can do about this (in addition to learning a better jumping technique)?

Suicide setup?

I just bought a 9 meter link and I seem to swing a bit under the kite aswel. More than I do with the same jumping style on my 12 Switchblade.

But the guy before put a 200 millimeter extra pigtail on the two front lines, and it flies really stable at 12 o'clock. If I let go of the bar, it doesn't back stall at all, where my Switchblade does a big.

Brant,

No short cut re the leash tangle, you just have to start clipping onto the chicken rope above your chicken loop. When launching/landing attach your leash to either of the o-** loops at the end of the bar. When all is well and ready to ride, clip to the chicken rope.

Re overfly, i found that avoiding flying the kite static at 12 seemed to work. i.e. dont leave the kite at 12 while you stand on the beach chatting up the ladies. You'll get worked. Keep steering line tension on the kite at all times by moving it slowly from 1130 to 1230. Same goes for a jump, if you send it to 230 on a boost, as soon as you feel the kite has stopped 'sending' pull the opposite end of the bar and bring it back to the opposite side of the window. This would be your downwind side in anticipation of landing the boost...

Thanks guys, I'll try lengthening the front lines, maybe by 50mm at a time though.
I like the Cabrinah safety set up, has anyone tried doing something similar on the 07 Slingshot bar?

Personally I would ride with the leash hooked to the end of the de-power rope. No it's not as safe as a flagging system but at least it pulls the trim to full depower which is better than just suicide.

Slingshot already have an answer for this problem, just take a look at one of the newer bars.

As for the overflying, this is a trait of the Link. Have you removed the LE battons yet? If not then you should try it. Removing them takes some weight out of the LE and allows the canopy to distort to slow it if the kite overflies a bit.

I ride my link with the safety on the de-power rope. Only problem is when you are fully depowered I sometimes get a bit tangled in the leash/rope.

Good advice there, I'll give it a shot when these stinking hot northerlies go away and the sea breezes kick back in.

burn it

Fill it with hydrogen, launch it then burn it!

Then the Hindenburg Link will look more real.

To stop your lines tangling just do a downloop transition into your backrolls. or throw a f-16. there are a lot of other combos you can do that prevent having to spin your lines out.

- follow a back rotation with a forward rotation.
- loop the kite backwards while riding along on the flat.
- don't do rotations.

If you get your skills up a little then connect the leash to the chicken loop in the suicide leash position. Then you can spin your bar easily. It sounds like your skills aren't that crash hot so you might be safer leaving the leash is the safer position and skipping the rotations until you get a bit better.

- nope.

The most important thing is to redirect the kite forward for your landing. Practice that a bit until you are landing regularly then connect your leash in the suicide position to solve your first problem.

BTW. If you send the kite a bit too far back and bring it forward quite late you can get a really nice secondary boost as it comes over the top of the window followed by a silky smooth parachure landing. It feels great and is way more fun than rotations.

Alternately you can send the kite too far back then loop it to do a sissy loop. Also good fun.
