Hi
I’m interested in buying two Slingshot Rev’s. I weigh 80kg (176lbs) and was thinking of getting an 11m2 and a 7m2 Rev2.
What will my wind range be if I use a 134 Twintip? (13-40knts?)
Or should I get a 9m2 + 13m2 combo instead? I’m guessing the wind range would be 11-35 knts. How much more low end does the 13m2 have than the 11m2 ?
Another point is that I think I’ll be overpowered on the 9m2 in 30+ knts. SO the 7m2 woulb be better so big wind days...
Can’t really decide which I should get, due to the fact that I haven’t had the opportunity to fly a rev. The wind here is 10-20knts most of the time and occasionally it’ll go up to 30+.
What do you guys think? Which is the better choice?
Thanks

If the wind only occaisionally gets up to 30 then a 7 would be too small. I would go for a 9 and 13. The 9 is great in anything over 18 and is great up to 25 and can easily handle gusts of 30. If your wind range was consistently over 20 then 7 would be maybe. I can ride my 11 very comfortably in 20 - 25 but a 9 would be much better.
The 11 is too small under about 13 knots so if you are in this range a lot then a 13 would be your main kite.

I agree. The 11m won't be much fun in the lighter ranges and the overlap on the 13 and 9 should be big enough to be able to switch. The 9m should carry you over 30 knots but it won't be fun after 35.

Me too.
For your weight & wind range Id definately go the 9 & 13 unless you are riding a surfboard a lot, or all the time, then maybe the 7 & 11.
For TT riding it doesnt sound like the top end warrants a 7M - the 9 will get you to over 30kts OK.
At the bottom end not a lot difference bw 11 & 13 but 1 or 2 kts the 13 will give you can make all the difference if you are getting light winds regularly.
BUT then the 11m is way faster & nicer kite than the 13 (esp for surf) so the bigger board & the 7/11 may be the go.
Tough call if you are into surf otherwise 9 & 13 is a great quiver.
