The pimp part is the close ups of the kites for 1/2 a second or so for no real reason.

This is called seamless advertising (also called product placement). It works great for the brand and the viewer unless the viewer notices it as purposeful and intentional.

More and more people will become aware of the purposeful nature of seamless advertising that a brand is producing if the technique is repeated in every video that it produces.

This may annoy an increasing number of viewers and take the gloss off a great little vid and/or the brand.

In this particular clip, I counted a total of 1.5 seconds of the "product placement" in the whole 1 minute 21 second clip. The close up I assume was when the kite was flying and fit in with the "flow" of the story I thought. Sure it is intentional but I can't see how it is out of place, out of context or excessive.

Let's look at this another way - should we never see the brand / make / model of the kite, lines, bar, board, harness, wetsuit, hat, sunnies, boardies or anything else these guys are using? If we did that there would not be a whole lot left to see...

Folks are free to feel what they want about the brand as a result of the brand / rider actions, but this clip is a long way short of crossing the Seabreeze pimping line.

mmmm I have no probs with the video and the product placement. With one, comes the other.

Do you live in a box, a cave, underwater maybe? Is your utopian world of kiting socialist in nature. Without advertising, without promotion, we would have an oligopoly of very few manufactures making all the kites. The very nature of free promotion gives the small to large kite manufactures the ability to get their message out there.

Are you scared you might wake up in a BWS trance, head to the local retailer, walk out with a 3 kite quiver, then wake up in horror at what you have done!

If they spend resources filming, they are entitled to promote. It is the way of the world, why does everyone get so fired up!!

I wouldn't care if they were riding any brand - don't care. Won't buy one until i have tried one anyhow. And anyone who does deserves what they get.

Very, VERY well said Eppo. This whole thing about pimping/advertising/product placement is all ridiculous. How can you have a kite board video without Kites and Boards, Harnesses.

Have a look at Seabreeze, there are ads to the left and ads to the right.

Give it up and enjoy the vision, or just don't click play.

U guys seriously suck! Who gives a s*** if they r pimping or not... Does it really impact ur life that much to hav a whinge on here every time a new vid is posted?
Maybe u guys shud go fly a kite sometime.
I appreciate the skills on display as much as I appreciate the editing these vids demonstate.
