It is not fake.
First thing you learn in any flying sport is the air turbulence and it appears when you are close to large objects, buildings, hills etc.
If you look at the footage again he lost the control when he got so close to that wall.
If you going for snow kite you have to choose the flat areas with thick powder snow not like this guy who snow kiting close to rocks.

On the other hand WTF was he expecting kiting on steep hill with uphill wind???

One can only imagine the 'injury' he did to his underwear...

Sorry but thats not true mate at all you can snow kite where ever in the mountains back country is the best actually, the flats are more for the freestyle guys.
Although pretty impressive vid this is not uncommon as far as snow kiting and some guys actually fly the updrafts deliberately I've seen it first hand, I've watched Chasta fly off one mountain peak to another so high up it's freaky, and do it all day everyday like it's normal.
Sure it looks dangerous and it is, the article written below had no idea of the sport whatsoever it's pretty obvious.
As this guy is known as a pretty legendary snow kiter perhaps he knows exactly what he is doing?
Although he did have a little trouble at the wall and I'm sure he didn't expect to be lofted, but I'm sure he's been that high before.
Also from personal experience I know the guys that fly this style kiting mod there rigs, being chicken loop etc is fixed and fly lines are changed out very regularary.
Also they mod there harness to full climbing harness capacity.

What really annoys me is these assholes that make fake videos in the first place. It just devalues the legit stuff. This is real, but I am really getting over fake vids... get a life, or spend the time filming to catch something legit.

Err dude these fake vids that you speak of aren't made by people because they don't have a life. They are ads. For the last 5 years viral marketing has been the great white hope for advertising execs to market to incomprehensible Gen-Yers who just won't buy what they're told to. The reason the money men love it so much is that if you have the right idea, and a bit of luck, then for a measly million bucks you can get exposure that would otherwise cost a billion.
