Every time I look at the Graphs I see south channel Island is always 5 knots winder than anywhere else in port phillip bay and always less gusty. Has anybody been over there to see what it is like. Are you even allowed over there? Thinking of getting a boat to go over, as from google earth it looks fairly shallow with a few nice sand bars.

Matt

I spent some time at South Channel island some years ago. Not kiter friendly at all. The island is surrounded by rocks, water is deeper then appears on google earth and the tide rips through there at a wicked rate. Perhaps you should try Mud Island further up the bay?
