I think this tristanium is one of many ID's that some one just made up for multiple answers to our competition.
He or she doesn't have any posts or avatar or location.
Some one just made 20 accounts and randomly voted for 20 different cells.
I was not pointing at the right cell any way, I said H8 but I learned a trick for the next competition

I think you may be underestimating laurie. I know he'd be checking IP addresses so the likelihood of that happening is pretty low. I know for a fact that most forum software allows you to easily identify a user registering more than one account so I don't think Laurie would have missed this.

What it doesn't exclude however is people getting their brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, mom's, dad's, friend's, dogs's etc to enter to improve their chances of winning which is always a possibility given that the first 3 prizes were taken by non-contributing members of seabreeze. i.e. zero posts. The possibility to get around this would be to only allow entry from members with a particular number of minimum posts so it reduces the likelihood of getting random entries coming in but then you limit the exposure of the competition for the sponsor so it minimises his/her potential audience for advertising and may discourage new kiteboarders or people wanting to get into kiteboarding from entering. Its always tough when it comes to running comps and I don't envy Laurie's job.

Thanks for another great comp. :)

Another possibility is that they are lurkers who just registered for the comp. I like the idea of having at least a couple of forum posts to be eligible.

I think most Seabreeze regulars would be surprised at how many people read but do not post on the forums.

I'm sure that the number is about 20-1 in favour of the lurkers. Many of my customers say they read the forums regularly but don't or have never contributed.

If you have a look, I think you'll find there are less than 50 or 60 regular posters.

Good winds,

PS. Bummer that sponsors of seabreeze can't enter I'd love to have won the sunnies

I won a pair a little while back and I use prescription seaspecs so I can't use them. PM with your details and I'll try find them and ship them your way. Lets just hope I haven't hidden them too well.

Cheers for your support boys!

Seabreeze is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, and what a blast - to be able to give a kite away every single month!

The competitions started as a way to celebrate the site being online for 10 years - a way to say thank you to everybody who visits.

I put the word out to the Aussie Kiteboarding industry & was humbled by their response & support. When you look at what has been given as prizes, I reckon they're a pretty generous bunch of blokes & are well worthy of our appreciation.
