The season ends on the last day of Sept but in there off seaons they still have wind about 4-5 days a week. Sri Lanka is a windy place so there will be wind. You need to stay close to Kapalady Lagoon though which is in Kalpitya.

Most common Kite size is 9m but i used a 7m and 11m a few days. I just got back last monday and was there for 40days! Wish i could stay longer.

Ive just spent a couple of weeks over the chritmas period in kalpitya, the wind was great i got 11 days out of 14! i learnt so much from these guys! it not there main season but all the travellers that past thruogh was really impressed with the amount of days with wind! ive kept in touch with them kitesurfing lanka and they have been very busy since to! wind most days and lots of people at camp! if you want a good spot! good teachers and great vibes check them out! also very honest with prices, if you have half day and wind drop you will only be chared for the hours you did!

In Sri Lanka you can surely find wind in September. The traders wind season last still end of September , and if you are lucky the winds may even last till mid Oct. And the second season of wind starts somewhere aournd Mid December. Perfect for euorpeans to get away from teir freaking winter :-)

There are few cool accomadations already up in Kalpitiya - Sri Lanka and depending on your tase you need to chose the right accomadation for you.
- think about the price
- about how much party you want
- how noisy can it get or how quiet do you want it
- how many minutes a day do you want to be riding around to get to the water, there are only few places who has direct access to the Kalpitiya main Lagoon and to the small lagoon of Kalpitiya. So you need to know this before you book, otherwise you could end up travelling to the main lagoon every day instead of hanging around in your hammock and to wait untill wind is there to go to the beach. If you chosse an accomadation right by one of the lagoons, you are more flexible, but those accoamadations might not be as busy as some of the other capms.
- distnace to the vilalge centre, to buy few stuff, maybe to go to the ATM, or even just to experience the local way of life.
There are enough offers to fit anyones budget too.
