Lets build a Kicker for St Kilda!!! Maybee we have a working bee at catani gardens on next Sunday arvo with a few beers and a barbie and put together a kicker for the season. We Need.
1. 4 sheets of Marine Ply 125cm X 2020cm? - $60 each...?
2. 20m of Treated Pine 3x 1.5 ?
3. 20m of Plumbers 1 - 1.5 inch Pipe (white stuff)
4. Bucket of Hex head Gal screws with rubber washers
5. Battery circular saw and Battery drills
6. Glue
7. Carton of Beer
8. Barbecue
9. We arn't going to get anyone to sponsor it for obvious reasons.
10.I'll start the contributions with a sheet of Marine Ply. Battery drills and Carton of Beer.

Anyone else wants a Kicker - Please respond with your contribution to the project so we know what we've got.

Also - Anyone not happy about it going in the ponds section?
Bull**** begin now...

Do you think there is enough room there? St Kilda gets pretty crowded with people, and lot's of them are new people. The council could be a problem too...

Maybee it could go at the downwind end of the pond (Heading toward Port Melbourne) - No Bluestone walls down that way. The council in Rye didn't do anything about theirs. (Although I think it got stolen???)

were not that dumb you believed us when we told you that you were gay and should go live in some remote part of australia............ so kaos wouldn't kill you

And I'm super keen to help build the kicker but what size ply do you want as i work for a formwork company and can get the materials cheap.
think the ones we have are 1200 by 2400 by 18m thick

got this from KITEPOWERS post about the BRA ban in Sydney....

NSW Maritime have classified Kite surfers as vessels, same as they do windsurfers. I picked up the latest copy of the NSW Maritime Boating Handbook, and it mentions kitesurfers several times.
The handbook is free at all NSW Maritime offices.
Page 61 of the new book is dedicated to Kite Surfing, so we are officially on the radar now.

Kitesurfing is banned at beaches that display swimming signs, for 60M from the shoreline (kiters must not come closer than 60M to shore), all vessel "distance off" rules apply to kitesurfing, which means you cannot kite within 30M of a surfer (or swimmer) in the water .
Kitesurfing is banned for 500M out from the yellow/red flags, and 60M either side.
Kitesurfing is banned on all of Sydney Harbour, including Rose Bay and Neilson Park, according to the latest book.

The code of conduct which is published in the book is a co-operative and pro active action of the Australian Kite Surfing Association and NSW Maritime.
I would encourage all kitesurfers everywhere to be careful this summer, we are under the spotlight more than ever before.
And be really careful in Sydney (and Melbourne/forget the St Kilda slider guys unless you get permission, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane) or any built up area popular with swmmers and surfers or other water users.

Be pro active in your area, warn all tourists and newbies, nicely of course.

Cya and

Goodwinds

I knew Hook would be keen. Tell him I'll bring 2 pillows so we can have pillow fights in the back after we get drunk at the pub. I'm looking so forward to it already

Now I've just gotta get time off work! And I'm gonna bring clothes this time. That Country Target down there sucks, I bought some mad undies there though. So comfy, but I lost them so I need more.

Hookworm, Your the man we need mate. Lets get this thing going. I guess we could make the thing portable to save issues with the council if we had to??? I have a trailer etc to transport it outta there if It became a problem. I reakon building it in a way that allowed us to disassemble would be a good idea as well. I have talked to a few guys at the beach - I keep getting... "- JuST dont build it tooooo big..." Maybee we do a three foot high one...? Anyone wanna comment? Hookworm - Could you email me - [email protected] - Cheers all.

Hey Sillsy, we built one and used to keep it in the front of my house but it takes 4 people to carry it. Even moving it 50m was too much hard work and eventually we ended up chucking it in the bushes about 30m from where we park it. Even this is too far away and it never gets used cause the 2 of us that wanna use it can't carry it that far without ****ting our pants. My suggestion is if you can find a whole group that are super keen go for it. If it's only a handful of you make sure it's super light and easy to pull apart.
