Yesterday is a perfect example, can anyone explain to me why St kilda seems to get a extra 15knots over carrum/seaford/Frankston. I just moved to Seaford and realised that I missed out yesterday because all the action was in St Kilda.

Is there a reason for this, I mean I would have though without the city Carrum would get the better wind?

Last sunday the northerly stopped at carrum and never made it to rye, we were powered on our 9m when our mates at rye were standing around smoking ciggies.

The wind in the bay is just a little odd......

NOt sure why but Frankston often misses out on the wind it is nearly always 10knots lighter. ( a pity really the beach at the bottom of olivers hill has a perfect surf style setup with lotsa ramps ).

One day it will be on

foe don't stress, we get plenty of wind up this way. Keep it to you're self though, we don't want everyone to catch on to it.
Pop into the bonbeach carpark and say hi, theres always one of the crew out on a good day.
welcome to the neighbourhood.
P.S our beach's rock up this way, stuff the St Kilda slop.

Some of my most memorable sessions were had at Seaford/Carrum, for good and bad[}:)] reasons

You can't go past the Patterson River Motorboat Club's website for wind & weather charts and a live (and controllable) webcam feed of the beach there. Webcam is useful to look for whitecaps or "a front moving in" if you don't want to believe the reading. Easy link: http://www.prmbclub.com.au . Look for 'webcams and weather' in the menu.

Another option if you're not getting wind in Carrum, but St Kilda is blowing is to go halfway to Brighton beach.. I found it more-often-than-not mimics St Kilda.

Can't wait to hit that crystal clear, choppedy chop-chop Carrum water again in January

Lol thanks for the info Rob and thanks for the welcome burley.

It was the same yesterday. Guess Ill have to make the trip to St Kilda for a session when its light down our way. Its a pain though because I thought it would be better in general down here.

Anyway I fly one of the few red PL venom's so say G'day if you see me. Had my first session in about 8 months the other day down at carrum and my saftey popped just as I was about to self land. My kite flew off in the distance :) Great start. LOL

Got it back though, found it in a bush being smashed by razor grass. Surprisingly I think its only got one tear......Maybe one more season left in it :)
