Disclaimer: No affiliation just a happy customer.

Don't post much but i am on the forums a fair bit for pure entertainment value. You guys / gals are very entertaining.

Just wanted to make a quick shout out to the guys at Stonker who are always there to help out if you have a problem or need some info. They have done this for me several times in recent times and helped me get back on the water quicker.

Alex and Aaron give great customer service and sell quality product so if you considering buying kite gear / give them a call or get down to Torquay to see what they offer. They also happen to be an Australian company who have been in kiting from the start.

Bring on the catcalls of abuse for pimping. I won't be responding.

Cheers and keep up the good work Stonker

pimp, pimp, pimp.....isn't this what forums are about- you got good service so shout it from the treetops !

It is not often that someone who gets good service takes the time to appreciate it-the perils of working in customer service.

More people should say thanks and spread the word about the good companies...

Hey guys,

Really cool to hear Alex is still going and offering the same service he did 9 years ago. I bought my first kiteboard off Alex in 1999. A red 195 Polyester directional board with 5 fins. The board was an upwind machine! This was back when riding upwind was a trick in itself.

To my knowledge, Alex from Stonker made the first Australian made boards. He also made some of the first twin tips, the assymetric Stonker Shark. Alex' designs were always ground breaking back in the early days as he wasn't afraid to experiment. He is one of the true pioneers of the sport of kiteboarding in Australia and deserves the respect he has earned over the years.

Alex was my first sponsor "back in the day". A guy who was supporting the sport and riders back before more than 99% of todays kiteboarders had even heard of kiteboarding. Alex' enthusiasm for his designs, his easy going nature and customer focused ideals all add up to great service.

So this is my thanks to you Alex, for supporting myself, the sport and many other riders throughout the years, and congratulations on what must be your 10 year anniversary of being in business??? Many have come and gone over the years, only those with heart and dedication to the sport have remained. Good to hear you're still going strong!

Yes this is pimping but I have no connection to Stonker nor have I spoken to Alex in years, just respect where respect is due. My next 'General' is a salute to you mate

Good winds,

Darren Marshall

Don't recon it's pimping, particularly "stonker" they go way back, amazed there still there, pioneers of the sport. Alex and Dave Mitas were tearing up the bay with cool camo directionals, long before most of you had even thought about the sport. Had two stonker sharks yeah they were pretty crap compared to modern boards, but were pretty radical at the time. Think mine were 185/165 switching the side of the board for a different size, good idea. Their first boards had 3 straps and you were meant to learn to gibe, bloody hard. It's like bagging surfers with wooden boards, the sports evolved and think stonker deserves a bit of respect, can I have
a free board now Alex, ha ha

right on the money Darren, like wise have no affiliation
