Hey all
My wife decided it was a good idea today to buy a little shed for outside so I can put my golfclubs and kiting gear in.
I have read before that it is not a good idea to store your kite in the heat as the valves come loose (or something along those lines).
So, can anyone tell me, do you store your kite in a shed, does it really get that hot in a shed that it will damage the kite? (It's a steel shed if that makes any difference.)
Thank you!

Sheds can get hot, but a couple of wirly vents will help bring the temp down. Its still not the ideal spot to store the kites maby compromise and leave the boards harness wetsuit and golf clubs in the shed and the kites in the house.

Maybe you could keep your kites in the house,

And the wife in the shed

How dare she even suggest you leave your kites out in the hot shed.

Could you put them under the bed where you know they are safe and so they dont feel rejected

sorry guys this is probably a dumb question but it's super convienient for me to leave kites in my car - station wagon with a neat cargo curtain so there's no direct sun on them. The car is parked outside though and i expect gets pretty hot inside. Is this likely to do damage to my kites like right in the here and now? that is, over a period of a few weeks or months? If damage is done over 2 or 3 years then less of an issue cause i will replace them before that - anyone had experience with this?

Depends on how hot it is. If its the middle of summer, the temp in the shade is 30+ and the car could easily be 40+ which is enough to damage your kites. I saw someone have to replace all their bladders on all their kites after they left them in the shade in Saudi on a 45 degree day.

If its underground, its generally slightly cooler.

Also hang them up ,if Rats or mice get in the bag and build a nest they will eat straight through your kite ,I had a hobie 16 main rolled up in a bag in the back of my shed .little ****ers got into it and chewed through 3 layers of the sail so when I unrolled it it have 3x 80mm holes chewed in the sail.

Always glad to help.

Hope you put some whirly birds in so the wife isnt too uncomfortable

You could also help her out by installing a flyingfox pulley type of system to delivery your dinner so she dosent have to walk all the way from the shed to the house.
Its always better to think of others more than yourself
