Hey,

I have some time off and would like to find a nice place to get a solid week of kiteboarding with the aim of improving. I looked at Asia but the wind seems unpredictable and the reviews were not great. I am happy to stay in Australia, but I was after a nice tropical beach vibe with a kiting school and some where to stay (yeah i know, asking a lot).

Cheers Jono

dongara is a cool spot, in the midwest of wa,go kite on pristine beaches, chill at my cafe ,recharge the batterys, go for an epic late afternoon session or join the few locals on a dwinder and chill on the grass with an end of session frosty, also exmouth would be a ripper, base yourself at the lighthouse , kite some prestine waters, and chill with the crew of ESC, Maybe a WA road trip

Every year in October I go to the moose meet. its the oldest traction kiting event in the world. It was going before kitesurfing was invented!

We camp in the sand dunes at the kiapara habour. Its cold and bleak, there is nothing there other than sand and wind. No cell ph coverage, no running water, no internet, no caffe. Nothing. Except sand and wind. Lots of wind. It usually blows 40 bastards for most of the meet.

Can you handle it? No you cant. It will be too cold, too windy!

But god dammit I love it. 2 weeks to go!

Would expect nothing less of a hardcore legend like yourself.

I really look forward to a trip like this...Can't do it this year, but it's in the cards. Want to fly over and get a campervan and do the west heading north. The west really reminds me so much of where I grew up in Baja that I am afraid I might like it too much and want to move over....
Only difference is that Baja is full of right hand point breaks. Good thing I don't mind the lefts.

Go to the point near the meridien hotel or across to the islands.
The port in noumea is quite sheltered so the graphs look lighter then the wind is at the point.
Fantastic spot

Agree, Exmouth. Warm, windy, clear water with a variety of different spots to kite. I have spend two weeks there and loved it. We rented a camper van from http://www.ningalooexcape.com.au. The camp sites were spectacular. I would go back in a heartbeat.

In this time of the year Brazil is one of the best destinations for kitesurfing in the world. Strong constant wind until February and hundreds of different spots offering all kind of conditions. Here you can find more about the different spots you can find in Brazil -> www.freeridekitesurf.com/en/

Hope it's useful! ;)
