Hi I'm 105kgs and would be king of the water by now if I could ride suicide without breaking all my equipment.

Can anyone tell me how to set my gear up so that I can re-launch the kite after unhooked crashes easily? I ride North Vegas 5 line setup and normally spend a couple of minutes after each crash hunting down the bar, launching and unwrapping lines.

Someone mentioned adding a stopper ball a couple of meters from the bar on the 5th line so when I let go the kite partially collapses? Does this work?

I ended up modifying my safetly leash and clips for extra strength but one time the 5th line snapped and another time my kite exploded on the water as presumably I was too much of an anchor and it hit the power zone without any give from me...

Cheers!

Pull your lesh apart keeping the foam padding that surounds the cord on the inside and buy a desent bit of rope and feed it threw the hollow padding and re tie the clips to each end and you have a good saftey. The stopa ball is good when gettin into straps or bindings and walkin down the beach or do anything one handed but when you use it like how you want to it might work some times but the rest of the times you would wish its not there due to it pulling you down wind when crash away from your board due to the kite still being powered i had one on my LF it was good but only used it when i was doing one handed stuff.

Why dont you just ride suicide? it will depower the same as if you just sheet out the bar. when you lose the bar you just pull your safety leash in to reach your bar again.

I use a 2010 north bar with my core kites. It has two loops on the ring for your safety. Just open the chicken loop and feed the ring on to it and reassemble the chicken loop. Its suicide with the safety of being able to throw the chicken loop.

The ozone bars have a stopper ball on the front flagging line - its just a small thingo that feeds onto the front line, stops the bar from going ALL the way up to the kite. Could be what you're looking for to put on the 5th line... just make sure its far up the lines enough that it actually works.

We sometimes ride with 2 safety leashes (depending on what I want to do), one set up suicide the other on the flagging line. If your the average midvale gifted person who usually pushes doors when it says 'pull' this probably isn't the setup for you and wouldn't be recommended.

Goodluck with the search.

Ta Fellas (& lassies?)

Nick I see now what the new north bar is about sounds good.

Problem is even If I reinforce the leash I don't think the 5th line or canopy is up to it so suicide is out really. Maybe It was just a worn 5th that broke? Maybe the canopy was due a tear anyways? Pretty expensive for me to find out with more experiments ;)

Perhaps I'll change kites and go back to 4line. Biggest time waster when I've crashed is the 5th line wrap up special :( or invertion. I love vegas but wondering if a different kite/setup may not do this so much
