Work is getting very suspicious of me for asking for a new pair of safety glasses every couple of days. I don't think i can go back to stores anymore or they'll ban me forever. I've tried everything to keep them on, tying around my head, tying to my wetsuit, they either snap off, break, or come undone.

These proper "kitesurfing" sunnies i see for sale around everywhere... are they any good, will they break, and more importantly do they stay on?

Any suggestions (apart from the obvious answer of not stacking it anymore)?

I bought Blueeye Squids about 6 months ago, and have been very happy with them. They are not too expensive ($80), comofortable and effective, and I have not lost or broken them yet. Mind you I'm not that adventerous trying tricks yet and dont often do massive stacks, but in general I am not a gentle person with my gear.
I dont think they are much use under a helmut, they do scratch easily (easy solution- dont wipe the lenses until all sand is washed off), they are not polarised, but my eyes are much happier with them on. I am not sure myself if I would like polarised as it makes it a bit harder to judge the chop and waves.

There was good thread about sunnies here in the last 6 months thats worth searching for- I dont know how to make a link to it, sorry!

You can pick some up on ebay for cheap. Alternatively, seaspecs always have a buy two get one free special running including free shipping to Aus so you get 3 pairs for US$80.

I got some "Ozborn" ones for chrissy awhile back, they are polarised, and very close fitting all the way around, (on my head anyway). $79 you cant go wrong really, I tie them to my wetty strap, but despite many bungled kiteloops they have not yet even left my head. really happy considering the only other polarised ones I could find were the $400 Oakleys and of the 5 designes I tried on the Ozborn were the only ones to put function first and actually form fit to your face.

I have bought at least 4 pairs of kiting sunnies in 3 years. Most expensive was $120. Most got dirty after 30 minutes from spray or sunscreen and I took them off. Either way they all shared the same fate, broken or lost after 6 months of face slaps. I bought a pair of $30 polarised sunnies from the chemist and attached the cord with cable tie clip (cut off the remaining tie ends). saw other people drilling holes in the ends to attach cord. wash with a bit of detergent before use which acts like spitting in your face mask.

The result was no glare and no fogging for many sessions! i will lose them in 6 months anyway...why pay $120.

Yup - second that. I bought the squids for $80 spendies too and rode without a helmet a few times with the supplied elastic cord extended to attach to my harness (little bit awkward). They did come half way off after one big stack but the rear strap makes this hard to do.

I now have a Protec Wake Ace helmet and they fit nicely and aren't goin anywhere.

My eyes are so much better (spesh in 25+kts) after a sesh now.

The 1st few sessions of use the H2O ran cleanly off, but now I need to get a spray on water repellent from the hardwear, Rainex I think? Any clues folks?

Had my LAVA sunnies for about 4 years and couldn't kite without them. They're polarised and have a stap which secures them to head. They don't come off no matter how big the wipeout. Cost $100- a guy called Mark Peterson aka 'Hedgy' sold them to me. He used to live up at the Entrance- Central Coast NSW. I think he's moved to Darwin now.

Must have cost Wandaful a fortune to purchase enough cord to go around his head...
