Which do you reccon are better to wear while actually kiting. Don't care about the brand.
Polarised or non polarised?

Definately polarised are the way to go,they stop the damaging glare,its amazing how much more you can see under the water

The only thing is they get covered in salt spray and doesn't matter what type it is hard to see anything. Hence why I don't use them but should.

Im gonna go opposite.
My everyday sunnies are polarised, but I can't stand polarised sunnies while kiting.

It's definitely a personal choice.

I just find it much harder to judge the chop and waves etc with polarised lenses.

After years of trying to sort it with various types of glasses that fog and don't fog, and applying different magic potions, I am currently using a pair of Fuggles safety Glasses modified with a strap from a set of failed blue eyes.

They are currently standing up to the numerous face plants without loosing a lens, no brow or eye damage from popped lens, and best of all they don't fog or cloud with salt.

So much expense and research to come up with the cheapest and the best.

And they are not polarised but given they work really well, I am not fussed.

Try coming down from height into a choppy landing with polarized glasses, you'll trip over most times. Also harder to see definition in waves. Non polarized for me every time!

... I started using Sunnies back in 2005 and always kite with them since, the only time I don't is when I have broken them or they have come off in a prang. Infact I just about can't kite without them.

Little story, I got my first set which were Blue Eyes brand I thinkm (now using Seaspecs), and only had them a week and didn't really like the way the spots of salt/spray got in the way til one run, minding my own buisness, I happen to spot in the corner of my eye what I thought was a piece of chop and BANG!! I got hit square in the eye, or rather the left lens by a flying fish. That f@#king thing surely would have taken my eye out had I not been using the sunnies so from then on, I haven't gone a day without them.

The spots/salt etc don't bother me now, I occasionally just stop and wipe them down and carry on!

Another benifit I found wearing sunnies is when kiting in monsoonal rain, or when kiting straight into the sun around sunset time which I do often.

On the polarized or non polarized, I'm on the polarized only team.

I find I get too much glare off the water if I'm not wearing polarised.. but I agee with the cohort, chances are they get covered in salt and are impossible to see out of anyway.. but I'd rather have low vis then serious eye issues later in life..
